SPORT TRAIDER KIT COLLECTION WINNERS
Well done to the Warrington Town students who won the recent New Year #KitAmnesty competition by collecting the most items of clothing for Sports Traider in a competition between all NPL Football Academy clubs.
Their reward was a team meal out at Nando’s which they visited on Thursday (11th February) at their local restaurant in Old Market Place, Golden Square, Warrington.
Congratulations to all our clubs for an incredible collection drive that saw over 700 items donated by students, club official and supporters.
Sports Traider were unveiled as the EVO-STIK Northern Premier League’s new official charity in August 2015.
Founded in 2009, Sports Traider is dedicated to helping youngsters to discover and fulfill their sporting potential, whatever their background, ability or disability.
Using the #KitAmnesty, a series of league-wide collections days of unwanted sports clothing and equipment will be promoted over the coming season to help encourage the local communities of member clubs to donate kit and equipment.
As well as being recycled and distributed locally, the kit will also be sold in Sports Traider’s retail outlets with the money generated being re-invested into grassroots sport for disadvantaged children and young people.
Using the #Kit Amnesty to mobilise fans on social media, the charity’s volunteers are hoping fans, players and officials will soon start following in the footsteps of more than 200 students at the NPLFA, the league’s ground-breaking academy, who started collecting the unwanted kits of their friends and families before Christmas.
