The Northern Premier League Football Academy (NPLFA) are proud to announce record growth in their education and football programme.
Since the inception of the pilot programme all areas of the programme have increased significantly. Since the initial pilot programme intake in September 2014 through to the current intake September 2016 a two year period
● Number of clubs involved has increased by 120% (5 to 11)
● Number of teams involved has increased by 180% (5 to 14)
● Number of students involved has increased by 236% (75 to 252)
● Number of partners involved has increased by 175% (4 to 11)
An NPLFA spokesperson said, “We are delighted with the recent results which indicate the level and concept of the programme is what the students who are interested in education and football want. Each year the quality, provision along with new and exciting initiatives has uplifted the programme to continuing new heights. We also believe with our programme being part the Northern Premier League (Evo-Stik League) this has attracted a lot of students who are keen to experience this concept unavailable elsewhere.”
It shows no sign of stopping either as the programme starts recruiting for September 2017, “We have been receiving applications since last year for students due to leave for this coming September 2017 intake which is a testament to our development.”
The new season kicks off tomorrow with the introduction of two new divisions – sponsored by JOMA and CHRYSO – which will result in a grand final at the end of the season for the right to lift the Jordan Burndred Trophy, a challenge cup competition and also for the first time this year every league game will be filmed and released online in a weekly highlights package on Friday evenings with new partners FilmMyMatch.
